Although from opposite sides of the Atlantic, Steve and Liz came together through a love of country music. First visiting St John in 2009, they quickly fell in love with the island. Steve’s love of cooking BBQ and their desire to reside on St John culminated in their purchase of Barefoot Cowboy and their relocation from Texas.
Steve, as many Texans, is passionate about cooking BBQ. His brisket is his specialty and has quickly become a favorite with locals and visitors alike.
Liz brought her own twist of England with her recipes for the side dishes, and her Mac n Cheese is a huge hit.
They were recently featured on a National TV Show covering their move to the US Virgin Islands and their search for a home.
Lou and April combined their lives 12 years ago. They were two opposites who made a great team together. Lou was the status quo, no change guy while April was the spontaneous, looking for adventure girl. However, once they began visiting and exploring the Virgin Islands, they both knew island life would eventually be just what they both wanted.
Two years ago a very close friend sent them information that the Barefoot Cowboy was for sale. They did not purchase it at that time and had regretted it ever since. But then a trip to St. John this year got them introduced to Steve and Liz. After a few drinks and great conversation, a partnership was born and here we are.
Lou is a lawyer who spent many of his younger years in the restaurant business. April is a court reporter who is involved in fundraising for many charitable organizations. Both are looking forward to seeing you soon at the Barefoot Cowboy!
